Liesgen Café - A hidden gem in Krefeld
Nestled in the heart of Krefeld, Liesgen Café is a cozy haven for lovers of good coffee and homemade delights. Liesgen prides itself on using high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients to create its flavorful offerings. This charming café stands out for its excellent selection of homemade cakes, featuring a new creation every day. Personally, I can’t recommend their carrot cake enough—it’s easily one of my all-time favorites (sorry, Mum!). Cream cake enthusiasts will also be delighted by the variety of options available daily. Coffee lovers are well catered to here, with all the usual specialties alongside five unique local variations of filtered coffee. While not all of these variations are to my personal taste, I can’t help but admire the care and creativity that have gone into curating these options.
Overall, Liesgen does an excellent job of showcasing local artistry and ingredients while excelling at its core concept: serving exceptional coffee. For me, it’s a solid 8.5/10 and definitely a place I’ll revisit in the future.
